Hi Pamie,
I'm so glad you've found another beneficiary! This year I got an earlier start so I had lots more books to choose from. The Poway Branch is getting the following stuff from me:
Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt -- I never got around to seeing the recent movie, but I love the immortal frog at the end.
The Little Engine That Could by Watty Piper -- because every kid should have "I think I can, I think I can" running through her head.
The Last Unicorn on VHS -- I missed the political metaphors in this when I read and saw it at first, but I'd like to think it will plant subversive seeds in young minds nonetheless.
Sheep in a Jeep by Nancy E. Shaw -- because sheep are funny.
Now I'm off to my own local library. You rock for doing this again!
Sarah

Wait, there are political messages in The Last Unicorn...I'm going to have to watch it again.
