Busta Rhymes: The Big Bang
Song: "I'll Do It All"
This is what I'll listen to while I'm waiting on that Tribe Called Quest album and that Pharrell solo album ... both of which feel like they'll turn out to be Santa Claus.
There's one track on here -- "Cocaina" -- which I don't think I'll be able to listen to. About halfway through the song there come these dissonant chords that are off-beat and seem to come from the middle of the speakers, and they make my stomach twist. Every time I've heard the song, the first time that chord strikes I look around, thinking there's a car coming towards me honking, or a cell phone is going off, or I've just hit something while backing up. I can't explain it, but the sound of the chords makes me feel seriously uneasy, like I'm in a Kubrick movie, and it makes me so uncomfortable that I have to hit forward on the track.
I don't know if it's because the sound is in the wrong place, or the chord is so weird (minor? i know nothing about music), but it makes me feel like something bad is about to happen or just happened.
Busta, why you fucking with me?
